Crimscott Street, London - ALIMAK HOIST ACCESS FOR MULTI-TRADE CONSTRUCTION
Overview
Archis Hoist Solutions was appointed by ARJ Construction to deliver a high-capacity Alimak passenger and goods hoist to support the vertical access needs of a nine-storey development at Crimscott Street, London.
Installed at ground level and running to roof height, the hoist provided vital access for multiple trades throughout the construction programme. With a 2,000kg capacity and 42m/min speed, it enabled safe and efficient movement of personnel and materials — helping maintain progress across all floor levels.
The installation included 10 landing gates and 3 ties, allowing the hoist to serve every level with full compliance and ease of use.
Scope of Works
- Supplied and installed 1x Alimak Scando 650 hoist (2,000kg)
- Travel height: 29.5m, serving 9 storeys
- Speed: 42 metres per minute
- Power: 415V, 90A per cage with efficient consumption
- 10 landing gates for multi-trade access across all floors
- 3 structural ties for stability and compliance
Special Design Considerations
This project required a vertical access solution that could accommodate multiple trades working simultaneously across several floors. The Alimak Scando 650 was selected for its balance of high load capacity, speed, and safety — providing a single, central access route for both personnel and heavy materials.
Its efficient power usage and robust design made it ideal for the site’s needs, particularly during periods of intensive façade, M&E, and fit-out activity.
